Come join our first Township ‘oploy Tournament.  This is a timed game play and whoever  has the most money at the end of 90 minutes will qualify for the last round. The Tournament rules are posted below.

Evening Session: 5 pm-ish. – 10 p.m.

Swinging Jivecat Voodoo Lounge – Boardgame:
You and your fellow voodoo spirits have traveled back in time to poke a little fun at the hepcats of the 1950s cocktail culture. Your mystical influences will link these lounge-goers into social cliques that give you access to the coolest party-people that all the hipsters want to be near. Mix a few drinks, rack up the magical monkey points, and crown yourself king of the Swinging Jivecat Voodoo Lounge.  (Dice Tower Review)
GM: Jeannie Compter; 2-5 players

Tournament Rules:

The official rules of the game will be available on the day of the tournament.

There will be a Preliminary Round of 1 or 2 heats, depending on the number of participants.
As best we can, we will fill tables of 6 to play the game, or if we can’t, then we will fill tables as evenly as possible.
Games will use the speed die to accelerate play.
Games will last for 1.5 hours.  At that time, after finishing the current round with all players getting the same number of turns, the players will add up the value of their property:

(1) cash on hand;
(2) lots, utilities and railroads owned, at the price printed on the board;
(3) any mortgaged property owned, at one-half the price printed on the board;
(4) houses, valued at purchase price;
(5) hotels, valued at purchase price including the value of the 4 houses turned in.

Players will be ranked in order of finish for each round.
A score of 1 will be assigned to the winner of the game (the player with the most value).
The highest number score will be assigned to the player with lowest money total or to the first player to go bankrupt.
Scores (money value) for each game will also be kept for each player.
The top 6 players (those with the lowest rank) from the Preliminary Round will advance to the Final Round.
If there is a tie, it will be decided by the amount of money value the tied players had.
The Final Round will decide the winners. If there is a tie, it will be decided by the total amount of money value the tied players had in both rounds.

House Rules

Immunities are not allowed. (For example: “I’ll trade you this property if you don’t make me pay when I land on it the next 3 times”).
No advice giving.
Each player is given $2500 at the beginning of the game (3 $500s, Seven $100s, Two $50s, Six $20s, Five $10s, Five $5s, Five $1s.

“Official” Rule Clarifications

“FREE PARKING”… A player landing on this place does not receive any money, property or reward of any kind. This is just a “free” resting place.
The buying and selling of houses does not have to occur on your turn, but rather, can be done at any time during the game.
Each game board must have exactly 32 houses and 12 hotels.
When a player rolls doubles on the 3rd roll when in jail, the person moves no matter what. If they roll doubles, they move and do not pay the $50 (They do not roll again even though doubles were rolled). If the player does not roll doubles, they pay the $50, then move.
When a player lands on a utilities spot, they do not roll again, but instead, use the total of the dice that got them there (not including the Speed Die).
If a player lands on an available property and chooses not to purchase it, the property is auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Auctions are held for individual houses or hotels if there is a shortage. The winning bidder must pay a minimum of the price stated for houses and hotels for that property’s card.
You can trade mortgaged property. It just needs to be treated as still mortgaged.
Money can be loaned to a player only by the Bank and then only by mortgaging property. No player may borrow from or lend money to another player.
