All Day Game Day
October 20, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 12:00 am
Have fun with Tabletop games!
This is a full day of tabletop gaming goodness! There will be 2 sessions of scheduled events (see below) and a growing game library available all day. You are also welcome to bring along any games of your own that you would like to play with new friends. Entry fee is included in monthly $5 membership.
Early Session: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.ish
X-Wing has become a popular game at 2 Flights Up. All Star Wars fans are welcome to come. We are happy to accommodate new players. Either bring your own fleet or just come and we’ll assemble a fleet for you with our ships. This miniatures game is great for ages 16 and up.
Dominos (Chickenfoot) (Boardgame)
Chickenfoot itself is at heart a tile laying network game. You play 10 rounds, each round starts with a different double domino working your way up from double-blank to double-nine. You must first fill the double chickenfoot with the 4 tiles that go around it. If you can’t fill you must draw a new tile. Once the chickenfoot is played you may play a new domino, either putting a number against a number or playing a double tile in a T arrangement across another domino, this becomes a new chickenfoot and must be filled before continuing, a player draws a tile if they can’t finish the Chickenfoot. The round ends when one player has no tile, or there are no tiles left to play on a chickenfoot.
A fun game that can be played by gamers and non-gamers alike.
GM: Jeannie Compter; 2-6 players
Race your four game pieces from Start around the board to your Home in this Pachisi type game. By turning over a card from the draw deck and following its instructions, players move their pieces around the game board, switch places with players, and knock opponents’ pieces off the track and back to their Start position.
GM: Jeannie Compter; 2-6 players
Late Session: 4 pm.ish – 10 p.m.
Battle of Cape St Vincent (1797) (Miniatures)
14 February 1797
The Spanish and the British were at it again. Admiral Sir John Jervis was determined to cut off the Spanish fleet before they joined the French fleet at Brest. With the intel gathered during the night by Commodore Horatio Nelson, Jervis knew where the spanish fleet was, but not how big the fleet was. By the time morning came and he found his fleet committed to battle, he discovered that he was outnumbered nearly 2 to 1.
This semi-historical naval miniatures battle will be fought using the Tattered Sails and Shattered Gunwales ruleset: (http://www.compterenterprises.com/pirates/Sails.pdf).
GM: Thomas Compter; 2-6 players
Galaxy Trucker (Boardgame)
In a galaxy far, far away… they need sewer systems, too. Corporation Incorporated builds them. Everyone knows their drivers — the brave men and women who fear no danger and would, if the pay was good enough, even fly through Hell.
Now you can join them. You will gain access to prefabricated spaceship components cleverly made from sewer pipes. Can you build a space ship durable enough to weather storms of meteors? Armed enough to defend against pirates? Big enough to carry a large crew and valuable cargo? Fast enough to get there first?
GM: Jeannie Compter; 2-4 players
