CAN’T STOP (Dice game) Age 9+
In this Sid Sackson classic, players must press their luck with dice and choose combinations tactically to close out three columns. The board has one column for each possible total of two six-sided dice, but the number of spaces in each column varies: the more probable a total, the more spaces in that column and the more rolls it takes to complete. On their turn, a player rolls four dice and arranges them in duos: 1 4 5 6 can become 1+4 and 5+6 for 5 & 11, 1+5 and 4+6 for 6 & 10, or 1+6 and 4+5 for 7 & 9.
GM: Jeannie Compter; 2-4 players
Afternoon Session: 2 pm. – 5 p.m.
Dixit (Card game) Age 6+
2010 Spiel des Jahres Winner. One player is the storyteller for the turn and looks at the images on the 6 cards in her hand. From one of these, she makes up a sentence and says it out loud (without showing the card to the other players).
Each other player selects the card in their hands which best matches the sentence and gives the selected card to the storyteller, without showing it to the others.
GM: Jeannie Compter; 3-6 players
Evening Session: 5 pm. – 10 p.m.
X-Wing (Miniatures) Age 10+
X-Wing has become a popular game at 2 Flights Up. All Star Wars fans are welcome to come. We are happy to accommodate new players. Either bring your own fleet or just come and we’ll assemble a fleet for you with our ships. This miniatures game is great for ages 16 and up.
GM: Thomas Compter; 2-6 players
Domino’s AKA Chicken Foot Age 6+
Great family game matching the dots and be the first to lay down your last domino.
GM: Joanna Wagner; 2-6 players
Carcassonne (Boardgame) Age 8+
Carcassonne is a tile-placement game in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it. The tile might feature a city, a road, a cloister, grassland or some combination thereof, and it must be placed adjacent to tiles that have already been played, in such a way that cities are connected to cities, roads to roads, etcetera. Having placed a tile, the player can then decide to place one of his meeples on one of the areas on it: on the city as a knight, on the road as a robber, on a cloister as a monk, or on the grass as a farmer. When that area is complete, that meeple scores points for its owner.
